Lemon | Lemon Fashion

A contemporary figurative piece, ‘Fashion’ acknowledges the plight of those escaping war. I made it in early 2022 when Russian troops invaded Ukraine. It shows the bile of terror in a mother’s stomach as she tries to get herself and her babies out of a war zone.

This mother sports rainbow hair and a floral flow of purple and yellow. I felt fear while making this modern expressionist piece, I sketched it out extensively in an effort to understand it. I hope you enjoy the floral flow of the purple as much as I enjoyed making it. I also enjoy the weird raw nature of the face that appears.

I used watercolour, acrylics, iridescent ink, and fineliner pen. This piece will shortly be available as prints in my store, but there is only one original 🍋🎨
